Rabbits can be commonly seen on the Heath. In addition to these, dormice are present on the heath, but are less easy to spot since they only move around at night! If you are around early in the morning you may see a fox.
Badgers have not lived on site for a few years since their sett was flooded, but in midwinter it is sometimes possible to see their tracks on muddy or snowy paths when they come onto the heath to look for food.
Muntjac are quite often seen on their way through, and if you are lucky you may see a Roe Deer.
Approaching Animals on the Heath
Most wild animals are naturally timid, and the best way to see them is to move slowly and quietly, and not to approach them.
